Tony Nwulu: I Will Advertize Commissioner Positions When I Become Governor

Commissionership positions will be applied for and only qualified persons will be appointed if United Progressive Party, UPP governorship candidate, Hon.Tony Nwulu is elected the next Governor of Imo State. Nwulu made the pledge during his ongoing campaign across the 27 local governments of the State. He said vacancies for various commissioner slots and other political positions in his government shall be advertised and published.  He said any Imolite irrespective of political party affiliation or status will be free to apply for any Commissioner position of his or her choice. INEC’s Performance In 2019 Presidential Election, Shambolic – SDP

The governorship candidate, Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Cross River, Mr Eyo Ekpo, said the performance of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Feb. 23 Presidential and National Assembly election was shambolic. Ekpo made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Calabar. He said that there was enough institutional experience that INEC should have built on between 1999 and 2015. He said that the logistics arrangements were totally unacceptable and in a typical Nigerian fashion, no one had come out to take responsibility. “INEC of 2019 has enough to build on the previous experiences but it failed. “I would like INEC to improve in the delivery of materials subsequently, there is a Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) office in all the local government in the state but did anyone go to NIPOST to ask if they could use their logistics base to deliver the electoral materials, nobody.’’ “Also, the adherence to the rules at the elections ...

Dangote Gains $5.8bn In One Day, Now World’s 64th Richest Person

Aliko Dangote, Nigeria's and Africa's richest man gained $5.8bn in one day and his total net worth rose to $16.6bn on Tuesday, making him the world’s 64th richest person.  Dangote's wealth fell from $10.5bn at the end of last year to a low of $9.63bn on January 1, 2019, but it grew to $10.8bn on Monday, February 25 as confirmed in a report by Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the world’s 500 richest people.  However the net worth of Dangote increased by 23 per cent from $13.5bn on February 26, 2018, to $16.6bn, as he gained $5.8bn in one day, emerging 64th richest person in the world. While he is the only Nigerian on the list of 500 billionaires and also retained his position as Africa’s richest person, it should also be noted that his wealth rise by 58 per cent so far this year, emerged the second biggest mover after Andrew Forrest, founder and largest shareholder of Fortescue Metals Group, the world’s fourth-largest iron ore producer. Kaduna Inland Dry Port Records Import Cargo Throughput Of 2,318 Teus In 2018

A total of 2,318 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) containers of import cargoes were handled in the newly commissioned Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP) between January and December, 2018, Import Performance Rating obtained exclusively from the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), has revealed. Furthermore, the dry port handled only about 12 TEUs of export cargoes within the period under review. The performance rating shows that container traffic was slightly low in the second quarter of the year, due to the Apapa gridlock, operational challenges and insecurity, towards the fourth quarter of the year 2018 in the Kaduna environment. In the area of import, KIDP recorded monthly average of over 150 containers in throughput, which was described as a positive development, considering that it is a new port. 11 seats yet to be declared •Three inconclusive WITH 61 seats won by its candidates at last Saturday’s National Assembly election, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to maintain dominance in the Ninth Senate. Atiku Wins All 15 Central Polling Units In Mpape, Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday won all the 15 voting points in the Presidential and National Assembly elections at Mpape Central polling units, marked 006 and 007 situated at Mpape Primary School, Abuja. A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who monitored voting point one of polling unit 006 reports that PDP polled 92 votes against 64 of the APC in the presidential election; PDP got 95 votes against APC’s 60 in the senatorial, while PDP got 91 votes against APC’s 62 in the House of Assembly election. At voting point two of 006, PDP polled 120 votes against APC’s 23, while PDP polled 117 votes against APC’s 24 in the senatorial. PDP also got 110 votes against APC’s 23 in the House of Assembly election. Also, in voting point three in the same polling unit, PDP got 118 votes as against APC’s 33 in the presidential; PDP got 125 votes against 34 in the senatorial and PDP got 120 votes against APC’s 33 in the House of Representatives election.
