Singer Brandy collapses at LAX

NEW YORK — Brandy has been released from a hospital after passing out at Los Angeles International Airport.
Publicist Courtney Barnes said in a statement to The Associated Press on Friday that Brandy’s rigorous schedule, including concerts and personal appearances, took a toll on the singer.
“Brandy has been released from the hospital and is now at home resting. She has been traveling extensively as part of an ongoing tour and several personal appearances. In recent days she has taken more than 10 long haul flights including internationally,” the statement read.

Brandy’s rep also said the Grammy Award-winner was in the studio late Thursday and went directly to LAX for a 5:45 a.m. flight.
“The stress of all of the traveling and working so incessantly has exhausted her. She will be relaxing for the next few days,” the statement read.
Brandy’s hits include “The Boy Is Mine,” “Sittin’ Up in My Room” and “Have You Ever.” She has also acted in various movies and TV shows, including “Moesha” and “The Game.”

Three Katsina varsity students killed in ghastly motor accident on their way home after exams

  Three students of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYUK) have died in a ghastly motor accident on their way home after concluding their examinations.   It was gathered that the accident involving a commercial bus occurred along Katsina – Dutsin-ma highway on Tuesday evening, April 20.    The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the SUG President, Umar Ahmad, who confirmed the report in a statement on Wednesday April 21, said two other students were injured in the accident.    "With immense sorrow, pain and grief, The student's Union Government regret to announce the untimely demised of some students.   A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Minna, Niger State has remanded a housewife, Amina Aliyu along with three other accused persons over allegations of conspiracy and culpable homicide.   LIB   reported that the newlywed, Fatima Aliyu,19, was allegedly beaten to death with a pestle and her body set on fire by Amina in Minna, on Tuesday March 23, seven weeks after her wedding. Amina, who is nursing a three-week-old baby boy was arraigned alongside Aisha Mohammed, Zainab Aliyu and Fauziyya Rabi’u, by operatives of Homicide section of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Niger State Police Command, on Wednesday, March 31.   The accused persons were alleged to have conspired among themselves to kill Amina’s co-wife, Fatima.   According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), Amina Aliyu and Fati Aliyu were both married to the same husband and reside on Mandela Road, Sauka-Kahuta area of Minna.
