Shun corruption, CP tells promoted police officers

The Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Andrew Enwerem, and eight others have been decorated with the rank of superintendent of police by the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike,
Speaking during the decoration ceremony at the command’s headquarters in Owerri, Ezike said their promotion called for more dedication to duty.
He said, “I congratulate you on your new promotion.  We rejoice with you and wish you more promotions. The rank of superintendent of police calls for greater commitment, responsibility and patriotism to our country. You are expected to think out of the box and initiate ideas that would develop and make our country better. You must shun corruption.
“You are, therefore, advised to become change agents. You are required to be good ambassadors of our country. Don’t be part of things that questions the integrity of our country.”
Enwerem, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said they would live up to expectations.
He said, “We promise to continue to discharge our responsibilities diligently and in conformity with the regulations of the Nigeria Police Force.”
