The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY commissioned the first set of Nigerian Army Pilots trained by the Nigerian Army Aviation School to fly war planes. The 10 pilots are; Capt. E Collins; Capt. OM Banwo; Capt. K.A Ofodile; Capt. JU Ibelu; Capt. OS Arifo; Capt. EO Alpere; Capt. YA Haruna; Capt. FM Shehu; Lt. P Kajako and Lt. JO Uddin.

Three Katsina varsity students killed in ghastly motor accident on their way home after exams

  Three students of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYUK) have died in a ghastly motor accident on their way home after concluding their examinations.   It was gathered that the accident involving a commercial bus occurred along Katsina – Dutsin-ma highway on Tuesday evening, April 20.    The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the SUG President, Umar Ahmad, who confirmed the report in a statement on Wednesday April 21, said two other students were injured in the accident.    "With immense sorrow, pain and grief, The student's Union Government regret to announce the untimely demised of some students. They were involved in a ghastly car accident yesterday on their way back from school to their various destination," the statement reads.   He gave the names of the injured as Halilu Ibrahim - Edu. The 32-year-old Argentine, considered to be one of the greatest players in Premier League history, joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and went on to win four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and five League Cups. He will be forever remembered for scoring a dramatic injury-time winner against QPR in 2012 to secure Manchester City's first top-flight league title in 44 years.
